The Paramedic PRN shall be responsible for administering emergent and critical medical care. Works cooperatively and interdependently with pre-hospital and hospital personnel to optimize the care of patients requiring critical care stabilization and transportation. Maintains a positive attitude at all times, ensuring excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and execution of two EMS drills per year at Fort Chaffee, including but not limited to local EMS and first responders, Fire and Police Departments and air transport.
- Assist Lead Paramedic when needed.
- Assist to maintain AED program compliance.
- Assist in implementation of site Emergency Response Plan.
- Assist in keeping EMS Program medical bags updated and restocked.
- Must be trained by customer agency in customer agency specific security program and be able to apply these program requirements to all interactions with customer agency employees. This includes familiarity with the 10 CFR 712.
- Must attend customer agency annual security briefing.
- Must become familiar with customer agency specific required forms.
- Attend agency conferences, meetings or training, which may require out of town travel.
- Position may require travel to provide EMS Program coverage for the customer agency.
- Maintain high degree of knowledge of industry standards.
- All reasonable duties of a paramedic as described in the Paramedic Scope of Practice (Arkansas).
- Provide EMS Program medical coverage for training venues at necessary ranges as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Current Paramedic Licensure.
- Proof of training from accredited school.
- Certified in BLS and ACLS.
- Certification to teach BLS, ACLS and AED preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skills in Outlook, EXCEL, TEAMS and WORD.
