Summary:
Coordinates activities between defined areas, and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.
Facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others.
Has major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, plans, and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility.
Reports to Vice President/CNO, Assistant Vice President of Nursing, Vice President/Operations, Residential Health Care Administrator.
Responsibilities:
-The Unit Director develops, maintains, and evaluates patient/client and staff data collection systems and processes to support the practice of nursing and delivery of patient care.
-Develops, maintains, and evaluates an environment that supports the professional nurse in analysis of assessment data and in decisions to to determine relevant diagnoses.
-Develops, maintains and evaluates information processes that promote desired, client-centered outcomes.
-Develops, maintains, and evaluates organization planning systems to facilitate the delivery of nursing care.
-Develops, maintains, and evaluates organizational systems that support implementation of the plan.
-Evaluates the plan and its progress in relation to the attainment of outcomes.
-Director systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services administration for his/her scope of responsibility.
-Director acquires and maintains current knowledge in administrative and clinical practice.
-Director fosters a professional environment.
-Director collaborates with nursing staff on all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive officers, and other stakeholders.
-Director supports research and integrates it into the delivery of nursing care and nursing administration.
-Evaluates and administers the resources of organized nursing services.-
-Fosters quality improvement in nursing practice at Unit Director level.
Requirements:
Current NYS nursing licensure.
Bachelors in Nursing(BSN) required. Masters preferred.
Person needs to have 5 years clinical experience and management experience.
BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
Other Info:
Oversight of the 3B MedSurg department. It is a 20 bed unit and the person will supervise around 35 FTE's.
The successful candidate will assume twenty-four hour responsibility for the department.
Looking for someone that can improve patient experience, improve quality outcomes and improve patient flow.
Looking for all director roles to have bedside RN experience, as they are required to assist in bedside capacity from time to time.
Current EMR is Quadrame but looking to convert to EPIC.
Previous experience working in a teaching hospital preferred.
Compensation is based on experience and the range is between 88K-110K and the facility offers full benefits and a relocation package as well.
