Paramedic needed in Western Colorado at a small, critical-access hospital! They are seeking a Paramedic with at least 1 year of experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply!

Position Summary

General EMS duties: Emergency Medical Services personnel are responsible for all medical emergency care from the time they safely respond to and contact the victim(s) of trauma or illness, through transportation and expedient delivery to the care of a physician.

They must therefore be able not only to appraise the extent of first aid rendered by others, but also to carry out those additional measures within their scope of practice to minimize morbidity and mortality.

They must operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently; maintain communication between the scene of the emergency, traffic authorities, dispatchers, and emergency departments.

They will render necessary additional care en route; and transmit records and reports to medical and other authorities.

EMS personnel will perform other tasks as assigned to assist in the smooth operation of the department.

Licenses/Certification: Valid Colorado state Driver's license free from restrictions and suspensions. Valid Colorado State Paramedic certification required. National Registry Paramedic certification preferred. Also required, current Basic Life Support-AHA Healthcare Provider (or the equivalent), AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (or equivalent), and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (or equivalent). Preferred: International Trauma Life Support (or equivalent), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, Advanced Medical Life Support, and Instructorships in AHA CPR, First Aid, ACLS and PALS.
