Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) works under the direction and supervision of the EMS/Medevac Operations Manager and is responsible for providing safe, comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages. Care is provided in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transports by understanding and applying the specialized principles and techniques of transport practice, emergency procedures and diagnostics.

EDUCATION/SKILLS

  • Knowledge of emergent patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma
  • Minimum of two years pre-hospital EMS experience is required
  • Possesses an active Wisconsin EMT license for Wisconsin bases, and Michigan EMT license for Michigan bases
  • Dual Wisconsin and Michigan EMT licensure required within 120 days of hire
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Possesses a valid Michigan driver's license
  • Current EMT National Registry licensure is preferred
  • Basic computer skills and medical terminology is beneficial
  • Emergency Vehicle Operating Certification (EVOC) or Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) training

- Occasional - 24 hour shifts as needed
