Optometrist Needed in Houlton/South Patten, ME (will license)

This job will be working between TWO campuses - South Patten and Houlton - they must be okay with this! Monday: OFF Tuesday: Patten South 7:30am – 6:00pm (30-Minute lunch) 10hr day Wednesday: Houlton 7:30am – 6:00pm (4pm-6pm administrative time) Thursday: Houlton 7:30am – 6:00pm (30 Minute lunch) 10hr day Friday: Houlton 7:30am – 6:00pm (30-Minute lunch) 10hr day

Work Details:
· Support staff: 1 Optometric Tech, 1 Optician
· Amount of coverage needed per month: Fulltime
· Patients per day: 16 average
· Department description: Optometrist provide quality eye care and emergency treatment. The primary focus will be to examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
· In addition to general optometry, are there any specific skills, languages, or qualifications that the candidate should possess or take into account? No
· EMR: Athena, MUST have experience with their own computer charting (Athena exp not required but preferred) - cannot have had techs who've done all their charting for them

Practice Setting:
· Clinic
· FQHC

Requirements:
· Board Certification: Board Certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry
· License required: License in hand preferred, willing to consider licensing candidates
· Graduation from an approved school of optometry
· Must possess a clean criminal and DHHS background

Clinic closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Day after Christmas, New Year’s Eve

Credentialing Timeframe: FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) – minimal credentialing needed
