DirectShifts is seeking a Occupational Therapist to work in Brooklyn, NY

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, planning and directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Helps patients not to only to improve their basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, but also to compensate for permanent loss of function; helps patients to have independent, productive and satisfying lives. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
• One (1) or more years of experience in all aspects of occupational therapy
. • New York State Licensed Occupational Therapist
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong written and verbal skills
