Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Vernon, AL team part-time. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and make a meaningful impact across a variety of patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and environmental needs to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with realistic, achievable goals in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' ability to perform daily activities using various techniques and modalities.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, home exercises, and adaptive strategies to promote ongoing self-management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
- Advocate for patients' needs and support their access to necessary resources and services.
- Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Alabama.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using occupational therapy equipment and technology.
