Area Therapy Director – Physical or Occupational Therapist

WellTech Partners is working with a leading occupational healthcare organization in Salinas, California, seeking an experienced and motivated Area Therapy Director to join their ancillary services leadership team.

This hybrid clinical and leadership role (60% clinical, 40% admin) offers the unique opportunity to guide therapy operations across multiple outpatient clinics while still staying connected to patient care. What You’ll Do:

Clinical Leadership (60%)

• Deliver high-quality care to patients with orthopedic and workplace-related musculoskeletal conditions.

• Ensure evidence-based practice and clinical consistency across locations.

• Support and mentor clinical teams in collaboration with medical providers and clinic managers.

• Conduct clinical audits and offer expert case consultations.

Operational Oversight (40%)

• Manage day-to-day operations across multiple therapy clinics.

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training for clinical and support staff.

• Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement plans.

• Maintain regulatory compliance and elevate patient satisfaction.

• Foster a culture of teamwork, clinical excellence, and accountability.

Multisite Management

• Travel to clinics regularly (~25%) for in-person leadership and team development.

• Align site-level practices with organizational goals and ensure a cohesive experience for both patients and staff.

What You Bring:

• PT or OT licensure in California (or ability to obtain)

• 5+ years of clinical experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role

• Strong background in orthopedics, sports medicine, ergonomics, or injury prevention

• Prior experience managing multiple locations or teams

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in EHRs and performance metric (KPI) tracking

• Current BLS certification

Preferred: Experience in occupational health, outpatient ortho, or similar settings
