We are currently seeking motivated Occupational Therapists for the VA Northern California Healthcare System in McClellan, CA!

DUTIES:

• Evaluate a wide variety of patients as appropriate for their diagnosis to determine current levels of functioning and areas of impairment. Evaluations may include the following areas: activities of daily living, strength, range of motion, sensation, perception and cognition.
• Develop a treatment plan and measurable goals designed to restore function, compensate for dysfunction, and minimize debilitation.
• Implement occupational therapy plans to meet the patient’s rehabilitation objectives.
• Evaluate for, prescription of, and training in the use of wheelchairs and power mobility devices.
• Assess patient’s fixed and modifiable deformities, sitting/postural requirements, presence of amputations, skin integrity, pressure areas, living environment, and mode of transportation for the device.
• Make mechanical adjustments and/or attaching positioning devices and accessories to ensure an appropriate fit of a manual wheelchair.
• Re-evaluate patient progress and make appropriate modifications to treatment.
• Train family members/caregivers in handling of patients.
• Practices all infection control and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have an active and unrestricted license from ANY state
• Be board certified by the National Board for Certification for Occupational Therapy
• At least one year of inpatient rehabilitation experience
• At least one year of outpatient ortho and neuro experience for outpatient rehabilitation
• BLS, ACLS, CPRS
