Nuclear Medicine Technologist / PET Technologist in Jacksonville, FL for Permanent Hire

Technologist Responsibilities:

• Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Practice. Most common procedures will be cardiac stress SPECT and PET Stress studies
• Using new Omni Legend Scanner to capture diagnostic images.
• QA and other technical functions
• Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
• Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
• Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
• Administering radio contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
• Evaluating CT and Nuclear Medicine scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
• Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
• Other requirements in the normal duties of a PET technician or nuclear medicine technician.

Requirements:

• Certified by an appropriate organization AART, NMTCB, etc.
• Licensed in Florida to perform SPECT and PET studies.
• CPR and BLS certification.
• Start basic IV lines.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong technical skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills
