Summary:
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals on all types of patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical conditions.
Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services.
Responsibilities:
-Operates nuclear medicine and related medical equipment to complete a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
-Produces acceptable images by determining proper technical factors based on individual patients and/or procedures.
-Orders, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals according to accepted practices.
-Follows all radiation protection and radiation safety policies.
-Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
-Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department.
-Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
-Participates in clinical training of nuclear medicine and radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required.
-Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) in the appropriate specialty (nuclear medicine) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Nuclear Medicine.
Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic imaging and clinical information management.
Competence in diagnostic & therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures performed at this facility.
Additional Info:
Position is 36hrs a week day shift with on call.
The schedule is that they currently work: 6:30am-3pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, or 8am-4:30pm.
Typically the 8am-4:30pm tech is the tech on call until 6:30am the next morning through the week.
On Friday, Saturday, Sunday one tech is scheduled for on call for the weekend. There is a rotation of every 6 weeks for weekends.
The hospital will offer an hourly range between $32.13hr-40.00hr depending on experience. Will offer a sign-on/relocation of up to 15K as well.
