Medical Technologist - Clinical Laboratory Scientist - (Med Tech - MT - CLS)
StartDate: 06/13/2022Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $1400.00 - 2000.00
Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) prepares specimens for analysis by accessioning orders via LIS (CIS), verifying specimen acceptability and performing established pre-analytical procedures in accordance with laboratory policy in an accurate, safe and timely manner. This role provides support services for the clinical laboratories by resolving problem specimens/orders and responding to telephone inquiries for test results and specimen collection criteria.
Required Qualifications
VA-License not required
Certified MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (BSCLS) from an accredited program or a Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science* in addition to graduation from an NAACLS-accredited CLS/MT certificate program OR Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science with 5 or more years of on the job training in a hospital health care environment in a specific lab discipline performing high complexity testing in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology and clinical microscopy (categorical or generalist certification required).
