Job Summary: Manages all aspects of the Medical Record Department, including but not limited to: Able to code for all areas within the hospital. This position additionally functions as the internal auditor (please see appropriate job descriptions for further details). The HIM Manager reports monthly data statistics, and has oversight of scanning the obstetrics/newborn documentation into the Tracevue System and oversight of scanning medical records into the Prognosis System, checks the Tracevue delivery accounts for required signatures, both physician and nursing, monitors dictation and transcription, corrects all duplicate medical records errors, clones accounts, attends managerial meetings and communicates with administration when needed. Check daily in Prognosis / Chart Access for unresolved visits.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree The possession of a RHIT or RHIA license is required upon hire, or obtained within six months of hire.
Required Experience: Two years of experience in ICD-9/10 and CPT coding.
Preferred Experience: One year experience in medical record management. Experience in ICD-10. Experience working with the medical staff.
Knowledge: Ability to plan, assign and supervise work of the staff of the H.I.M. Department.
