Assessment, Patient Care Associate (PCA)

Full time, days/evenings

Sycamore Springs is a 48-bed behavioral hospital located in Lafayette, IN. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction treatment to adults, adolescents and their families. At Sycamore Springs, we are dedicated to Changing Peoples Lives

The Sycamore Springs Patient Care Team is devoted to providing innovative and exceptional care in a safe and therapeutic environment. The Assessment PCA will be an important team member in our Assessment Department. The PCA will be responsible for the following:

  • Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests
  • Assists with obtaining vitals
  • Assist with assessing the needs of walk-ins and phone calls to ensure their referral to the service that best addresses their needs
  • Assists in initial psychiatric assessment on patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis or psychiatric or emotional disorders
  • Refers and triages patients to other sources of treatment with guidance of Assessment Specialists
  • Answers inquiry calls regarding treatment and the facility, presents treatment options, documents calls and sets appointments for callers seeking treatment
  • Assists with the hospital admitting process

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
