Medical Laboratory Technician - (Med Lab Tech - MLT)
StartDate: 04/22/2019Available Shifts: 8 N Pay Rate: $31.00 - 36.00

START DATE: 4/22/2019 for 13 weeks. SHIFT: Mon-Fri Nights, No Weekends but possibly a Holiday. REQUIRED SKILLS: Work area includes chemistry, hematology, coagulation testing, some kit tests. No blood banking except for being able to issue emergency release blood units if needed. AS MLT or BS MT degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Degree must be in Medical Technology or MLT. Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school required. Experience: 2 years acute care experience required. Licenses/Certificates: ASPC or equivalent required. Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Performs breath alcohol testing as needed. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care.
