Medical Laboratory Technician - (Med Lab Tech - MLT)
StartDate: 01/07/2019Available Shifts: 10 D Pay Rate: $31.00 - 36.00

START DATE: 1/7/2019 for 15 weeks. SHIFT: Monday - Sunday 0600 - 1630, with rotating start time between 0600-0800. Rotating weekends and holidays. Flexible shift. REQUIRED SKILLS: Position is for CORE LAB CHEMISTRY. Medical Technologist - Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science and successful completion of an approved Medical Technology internship program, OR Medical Laboratory Technician - Associate degree from an accredited School of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and completion of an approved clinical laboratory internship. Certification/Licensure. Certified as an MT/MLS or MLT by one of the National Commission of Health Certifying Agencies or by an agency recognized by the Hawaii Department of Health Laboratories Branch. State license as a Technologist or Technician. Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in verbal and written form. Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team. Excellent customer service skills. Independently performs qualitative and quantitative tests in assigned section(s), following established guidelines and predetermined criteria. Performs tests and calculations, documents and reports results. Follows established QA/QC policies and procedures. Operates, calibrates, conducts performance checks and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment. Maintains procedures, records and logs. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and uses knowledge, deductive skills and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them. Recognizes abnormal or unusual pre-analytical, post-analytical and post-analytical problems. Performs the following tasks as assigned: phlebotomy, other specimen collection, accessioning (data entry), processing of specimens, Forensic Toxicology: specimen collections, Breath Alcohol Testing, clerical activities.
