THE DETAILS| QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of experience within the last six months
• ASCP Certification unencumbered and active
• Most recent PAP Proficiency Exam successfully completed via CAP annually updated
• Bachelor’s degree accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP)
• Current State of Nevada License required for all assignments within the state of Nevada
• Experience preparing slides containing samples for examination under microscope
• Experience required with GYN/non-GYN screenings & fine needle procedures
• Pap smear registration and accessioning, pap smear processing, pap smear staining, stainer maintenance required
• Experience involving general cytology evaluation of cells for the presence of cancer, precancerous changes, and infections preferred
• Required experience using Thin Prep processors, Thin Prep imager, Leica stainer, and SoftPath
• Experience in providing interpretation samples to the Pathologist
• Working knowledge of current facility laboratory computer platforms
• Strong verbal and organizational communication skills
• Other duties within your field per request to include processing of Non GYN specimens, assisting on final needle aspirates, microscopic evaluation of Non GYN specimens
