We are currently looking to hire Medical Lab Techs with NiteLines USA.
Pay: $35.10.
Sign-on bonus: $2,500.

Location: Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center 109 Bee St Charleston SC 29401
Hours:
- Regular work hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including weekends and holidays.
- Second Shift, work hours are 4:00pm – Midnight: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including weekends and holidays.
- Third Shift, work hours are Midnight – 8:00 am, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Performs testing accurately, identifies methodology problems, and enters data as required.
- Performs, resolves, and documents quality control to produce quality results. To include: Review of QC data in real time and troubleshoot outliers; Performs and documents quality control as required by lab and department policies; Recognizes out of control, discrepant and unexpected quality control results and notifies the supervisor when appropriate; Uses proper judgment in handling these situations in the absence of a supervisor.
- Perform Calibration of all methods as needed according to instrument specifications. To include: Review of calibration results and determine acceptability: Run QC and review results after instrument calibrations
- Generates incomplete worksheets for current bench assignment to document the status of missed or missing specimens.
- Reviews critical values and notifies appropriate personnel with documented read-back according to established protocols.
- Perform steps for Instrument troubleshooting promptly to address instrument error codes or sample flags; includes contacting the Manufacturer Hotline as needed
- Perform new reagent lot-to lot studies as needed.
- To include proper documentation and determining acceptability of results.
- Understand method specific interferences and be able to determine best corrective action.
- Understand method specific Analytical Measuring Range for each test.
- Understand method specific dilution protocol for each test.
- Run Proficiency testing as assigned. Follow guidelines in Lab Proficiency Testing Policy; Performs and handles proficiency survey samples in an acceptable manner.
- Abides by all procedures and policies set forth by the Laboratory and Chemistry Department.
- Determines proper collection and timely submission of specimens.
- Processes specimens in a timely manner, following written guidance in Lab policy for specific turnaround time rates
- Performs and reports all tests in accordance with established procedures, in an effort to meet specific turn-around-time criteria.
- Performs quality control procedures on assigned instruments and methods as per Quality Control procedure
- Analyzes and interprets test and control data.
- Reports result expediently for stat testing
- Investigates inconsistent results and initiates corrective actions when warranted.
- Prepares and loads onto the instrument: reagents, calibrators and quality control materials as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles and skills in chemistry.
Qualifications:
- The MLT will be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) certification with appropriate training and a minimum of two years of credible laboratory experience.
- Required to have a minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory or related science.
- They must also have a completion of medical technology clinical practice program and have all licenses, permits, and certifications as required by law and this contract.
- All MLTs must have a minimum of two years of experience as a generalist. A generalist is defined as a MLT that can perform testing in all areas of the Clinical Laboratory, to include Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Urinalysis and Microbiology.
