Lead Hematology Technologist needed in the Hudson Valley of NY!

Responsibilities Oversees the workflow of the hematology section and performs the duties of a Medical Technologist.

Qualifications Minimum Education: B.S. degree required in Medical Technology or related science.. Minimum Experience: Six years of medical laboratory experience, with two years in assigned section.

Required Certification/Registration: NYS MT licensure required. ASCP preferred.

Physical Requirements: Walking, sitting and standing, most of the day. Reaches for, lifts and carries light to moderately heavy equipment and supplies. Visual acuity and color discrimination is required. Ability to communicate effectively and to comprehend conversation. Must have manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination to handle and manipulate instruments, slides, test tubes and other laboratory equipment. Capable of working long hours at varied times during the day or night. Alertness required during all phases. Working Conditions: Exposed to noise, odors, fumes, blood and excrement; communicable diseases, chemical, needles and biological materials most of the day. Requires detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Must perform some test in emergency situations, which could lead to a moderate amount of stress. May be required to perform functions at various locations.
