JOB TITLE: Cytotechnologist
Seeking a Full Time / Permanent Day Shift Cytotech to join a great team in Pennsylvania!
SUMMARY:
Screens gynecological and non-gynecological cytologic preparations to determine abnormalities and assists Pathologist with diagnosis. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Works under the general supervision of the Technical Specialist, Cytology, and the administrative direction of the Supervisor, and/or Operations Director of Anatomic Pathology.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates basic personal computer skills. Demonstrates excellence in microscopy with the ability to carry out total screening of Cytologic slides. Demonstrates effective organizational and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
ASCP registered or eligible as CT(ASCP), meeting the following criteria is required: Baccalaureate degree and successful completion of a 12 month accredited Cytotechnology program. Prior work experience as a Cytotechnologist preferred. Requires up to three months on the job training to reach acceptable level of performance.
