New medical technologist or medical laboratory technician opening at a laboratory in Maine. This full-service laboratory provides a full range of services including anatomic pathology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics and HLA (transplant lab). This laboratory is known to manage and execute all aspects of diagnostic analyses thoroughly, accurately, and quickly. This facility is a state-of-the-art environment with a fully-integrated laboratory information system and computer network.

This is a permanent and full time position blood bank position primarily on night shift (with some flexibility). The Medical Technologist and Medical Lab Technician independently perform detailed and complex analyses of patient specimens. The position recognizes problems, identifies causes (technical, instrument or physiological), synthesizes alternatives and determines solutions. S/he confirms, interprets, correlates, verifies and reports normal and abnormal patient results based on an in-depth knowledge of instrument functions, physiological principles and disease conditions. For consideration, applicants must be ASCP Certified as a MT/MLS or MLT (or have an equivalent certification) - ideally candidates will have previous blood bank or reference laboratory experience. Lastly, applicants MUST be seriously interested in relocating to Maine or already be located in the state.
