Job Description
Overview
The X-Ray technician performs x-rays to meet acceptable standards. Maintains daily operations of the Radiology Department including equipment supplies, film storage, retrieval and record keeping.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology Program preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred. Ability to work under pressure and relate well to patients, security staff, visitors and co-workers.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must have and maintain current certification as an X-Ray technician within the state. Must also obtain and maintain CPR Certification.
Responsibilities
Maintain current working knowledge of radiation and electrical hazards to protect and prevent injury to inmates and staff.
Schedule inmates for x-rays ordered by Health Care Practitioner including outside services when required.
Ensure proper positioning of inmate and exposure/development of film for proper diagnosis.
Assist Health Care Practitioner in performing studies as requested.
Assist staff in proper utilization of dental x-ray unit.
