Full time Medical Technologist needed in beautiful Maine!

Join one of the largest, most sophisticated, state-of-the-art laboratories in the Northeast. Seeking candidates interested lakes, mountains, skiing and other year-round activities. 2nd and 3rd shift positions are available, and they are 36 hour work week (3 12 hour shifts). In addition to generalist work, position involves some Special Coagulation and Hematology tests.

Job Summary: The Medical Technologist/ Medical Lab Technician/ Clinical Lab Technician independently performs detailed and complex analyses of patient specimens. Recognizes problems, identifies causes (technical, instrument or physiological), synthesizes alternatives and determines solutions. Confirms, interprets, correlates, verifies and reports normal and abnormal patient results based on an in-depth knowledge of instrument functions, physiological principles and disease conditions. Trains and monitors other clinical laboratory personnel. Uses laboratory computer systems to obtain relevant patient information and input test results.

Requirements:
* Medical Technologist: Knowledge of clinical laboratory functions, practices and procedures acquired through a Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology and certified.
* Medical Laboratory Technician: Two-year Associates degree from an accredited college, and certified.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
* Certification as a medical technologist (or equivalent) or as a categorical technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is preferred.
