LABORATORY TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
Full Time, Days

Summary:
The Technical Specialist coordinates functions and activities of the assigned technical area throughout the laboratory system. Reports results, develops and monitors quality control and test procedures, oversees proficiency testing, quality improvement and equipment and shares in the routine work of the assigned area. Meets regulatory requirements for the assigned technical area(s). Performs tests requiring special scientific skill. Correlates knowledge and understanding of theory and technical elements of testing to solve problems and answers questions effectively and efficiently. Works with other laboratory staff to provide a smooth operating and efficient Clinical Laboratory Department, to enhance the quality of patient care. The Technical Specialist also performs the duties of a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and other tests or procedures conducted by a clinical laboratory, including maintaining equipment and records, and performing quality assurance activities related to examination performance, and which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, as determined by the department)

Credentials: Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Experience in standard laboratory methodologies required. Previous Clinical Laboratory experience preferred.
