Job Description

Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technologist for our NLH Lab. Full-time Non-Exempt; 36 hours; every weekend, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 6p-6a. The position will adjust hours to 40 to assist in coverage when the alternate overnight tech takes earned time off. The share of holidays with alternate overnight tech.

Performs analysis of laboratory specimens and report results in all areas of the clinical laboratory, following department policy and procedures and maintaining quality control practices.

MANDATED Job Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent, ASCP or equivalent certification required within one year of hire. BLS Certification. Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience preferred. Basic computer skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized and a critical thinker. Current phlebotomy skills preferred or acquired during first 90 days of employment.

Continuing Education Adhere to the ASCP model for the Certification Maintenance Program: 36 CEU per 3 year period
