Lead Medical Technologist –MO

Facility: Hospital based clinical laboratory within a regional healthcare system.

Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Additional shift options may be available upon request.

Job Summary: The Lead Medical Technologist oversees day to day operations of an assigned laboratory section, including point of care testing, regulatory compliance, and workflow coordination. This role performs testing across all major laboratory areas such as chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, coagulation, and serology. Responsibilities include maintaining quality standards, supporting staff competency, ensuring equipment readiness, and contributing to departmental policies and training.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with completion of an approved Clinical Laboratory Science program MT (ASCP) or equivalent 3–5 years of experience preferred within a lab subsection 1–3 years of leadership experience preferred Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities: Review and recommend improvements to policies and procedures Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment Perform accurate patient testing and maintain CEU requirements Participate in proficiency testing, competency assessments, and special projects Assist with technical policies, equipment evaluations, and new employee training Use safety devices and PPE when handling biohazardous materials
