Clinical Lab Supervisor
Location: Central GA, United States
Schedule: Monday - Friday (no weekends or holidays), Evening shift 1pm - 10:30pm with some overnight work as necessary
Job Summary:
The Clinical Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations in the technical area(s) of the Hospitals and Clinics. This role includes department, discipline, and/or shift oversight to ensure peak laboratory operations and quality standards are met.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide work direction, expertise, and guidance to staff
- Oversee clinical laboratory testing and evaluation of results
- Participate in projects to meet strategic initiatives
- Monitor budget compliance
- Implement performance improvement processes
- Ensure quality, regulatory, and compliance standards are met
- Coordinate training and competency testing of staff
- Monitor and maintain quality indicators
- Select, coach, and develop team members
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by ASCP or Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by ASCP or equivalent accrediting agency
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology or equivalent
Experience Required:
- 3 years of experience in technical laboratory services and operations
