The Role
You will be responsible for the microscopic examination of gynecological and non-gynecological cellular samples. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes by identifying pre-malignant and malignant conditions through meticulous slide analysis.

Core Responsibilities
- Microscopic Analysis: Examine clinical slides daily in accordance with established department protocols and productivity guidelines.
- Data Integrity: Record findings accurately in the laboratory information system and maintain all required departmental logs.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues that may impact test performance or the reporting of patient results.
- Operational Support: Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methodologies to ensure peak lab performance.
- Quality Assurance: Actively participate in the documentation and maintenance of the department’s QA/QC programs.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all laboratory safety precautions, HIPAA regulations, and corporate privacy policies to protect sensitive patient data.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an approved School of Cytotechnology (Minimum 2 years of college).
- Licensure: Must hold an active Tennessee Cytotechnologist License.
- Certification: National certification by the ASCP as a Cytotechnologist is required.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of experience screening both gynecological and non-gynecological slides is preferred.
