Cytotechnologist

• Specimen Analysis: Accurately prepare, process, and test cytological specimens to aid in medical diagnosis.
• Diagnostic Precision: Meet and maintain diagnostic performance guidelines as established by the Medical Director.
• Technical Documentation: Thoroughly and legibly document all test results, quality control data, and patient demographics within the laboratory information system.
• Quality & Maintenance: Perform routine instrument maintenance and adhere to strict quality control procedures to ensure laboratory integrity.
• Team Collaboration: Engage in interactive dialogue with the clinical team, taking direction effectively to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
• Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to new staff, students, and pathology residents/fellows as needed.

• Licensure: Must be a New York State Licensed (NYSED) Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Cytotechnologist.
• Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Cytotechnology or equivalent education required for NYS licensure.
• Judgment: Demonstrated ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and take responsibility for preparatory techniques.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory computer systems and high-level attention to detail in specimen processing.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, follow complex directions, and train others.

• Competitive Pay: Hourly rates ranging from $26.37 to $42.19, commensurate with experience level (Level I or II).
