Job Description
NEW Medical Technologist – Full Time Nights
Location: Lansing, MI Area
Schedule: Nights (9:00 PM start) 7 on 7 off, 10 hour shifts
Job Summary:
Performs chemical, hematologic, serologic, immunohematologic, microscopic, and microbiologic testing to support diagnosis and treatment. Responsible for specimen processing, high-complexity testing, and timely, accurate results in a patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform Hematology and Chemistry testing
-
Operate and maintain lab instrumentation
-
Complete STAT testing within required timeframes
-
Ensure quality control and result accuracy
-
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
-
Use LIS to order and report tests
-
Train students/new staff as needed
-
Follow safety, privacy, and hospital policies
-
Work independently on assigned shifts
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science (required)
Experience:
-
Laboratory internship preferred
-
Must meet CLIA ’88 requirements for high-complexity testing
Certifications:
-
ASCP, ASMT, HEW (HHS), or equivalent certification/eligibility preferred
