Job Description

Medical Technologist (Generalist) – Night Shift

Schedule:

  • Night Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Monday–Thursday

  • Weekends as needed (minimum two per month)

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Technologist (Generalist) to join a high-reliability laboratory team on the night shift. This role supports patient care by performing clinical testing across all laboratory sections while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical testing and result reporting in all laboratory sections

  • Process specimens according to written procedures using the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

  • Perform phlebotomy, including venous and capillary blood draws

  • Conduct and document quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and preventive maintenance (PM)

  • Troubleshoot instruments, assays, and test performance issues

  • Recognize and resolve pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical errors

Qualifications

  • ASCP Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (or equivalent) required within 6 months of hire

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science preferred

  • Non-traditional pathways considered based on education and experience

  • No prior experience required

  • Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills
