Micro/Molecular Laboratory Supervisor - Must be ASCP Certified

Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor – Microbiology/Molecular
Location: East Providence, RI
Shift: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for our Microbiology and Molecular laboratory. This role oversees daily lab operations, staff training, competency assessments, quality control, and performance management. The Supervisor ensures compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage Microbiology and Molecular laboratory operations.

• Oversee testing, instrumentation maintenance, and workflow.

• Provide technical training and development for staff.

• Conduct staff competency assessments, proficiency evaluations, and performance reviews.

• Implement and maintain departmental policies, quality control, quality assurance, and safety procedures.

• Review patient test results and productivity, taking corrective action when needed.

• Support and engage staff to promote teamwork and a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• BS in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Science.

• Certified MT or MLT (ASCP).

• Minimum 4 years of Microbiology bench experience.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor laboratory staff.
