Job Opportunity: Hospital Laboratory Director – Richmond, VA

This is a full-time, daytime role (No Weekends) offering the opportunity to lead a high-performing laboratory team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

About the Role

As the Hospital Laboratory Director, you will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving innovation in laboratory services. You will lead a team of skilled laboratory professionals, ensuring quality patient care through accurate and timely diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA, and CMS standards.

• Recruit, train, and manage laboratory staff, ensuring high levels of competency and performance.

• Develop and execute strategies to improve laboratory services, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.

• Monitor resource utilization, identify variances, and manage financial performance.

• Establish and maintain key vendor relationships and supply contracts.

• Foster open communication with staff, leadership, and external stakeholders to optimize laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry (Master’s preferred).

• National Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP required).

• Minimum 7 years of progressive laboratory management experience in an acute care hospital setting.

• Strong leadership skills with experience in regulatory compliance and financial management.

• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 per local, state, and federal requirements.
