Job Description

NEW Permanent Nuclear Med Tech opening near Wellton, AZ!

Detailed Responsibilities:

- Performs examinations on patients across various age groups, from pre-mature neo-natal to geriatric patients.
- Administers radioactive material to patients for diagnostic exams and therapies.
- Practices effective radiation safety measures.
- Maintains accurate record-keeping as per regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates with other staff members to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients under the direction of a provider.
- Explains procedures to patients, addresses their questions, and obtains consent.
- Injects patients with radioactive material as required.
- Places radiopharmaceutical orders based on provider's instructions.
- Gathers and documents pertinent patient history.
- Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received by patients.
- Determines the appropriate procedure for the ordered study.
- Maintains records for dosing, decaying, and disposing of radioactive material.
- Conducts quality control checks on all cameras and dose measuring equipment.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- 2+ years of related experience.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.
- Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification.

Essential:

- American Heart Association certification for Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Certification from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Nonessential:

- Nuclear Medicine (NMT) certification.
- Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
