NEW Core Lab Supervisor - Northern Ohio

Position Summary:

The Core Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the day and evening shifts. This role involves orienting, evaluating, and documenting the competency of testing personnel and lab aides. Ensuring compliance with departmental programs, quality control, performance improvement, and safety regulations is paramount. The supervisor also manages patient test results and quality control outcomes, taking corrective actions as needed. Additionally, maintaining departmental expenses and productivity within budgetary limits is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Orient, evaluate, and document competency of testing personnel.
• Establish, maintain, and revise departmental policies and procedures, including quality control, performance improvement, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate the laboratory Quality Improvement Program in collaboration with the Laboratory Director.
• Collect data to monitor high-volume or high-impact processes prone to error, summarize findings, and prepare reports.
• Manage departmental expenses and productivity within budget constraints.
• Supervise employee schedules, approve timesheets, monitor PTO, and ensure adequate staffing.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, Medical Technology, or Physical Science, or equivalent examination.
• One (1) year of laboratory training from an accredited program if the Bachelor's degree is not in Medical Technology.
• Four (4) years of laboratory testing experience in a high complexity environment (required), with six (6) years preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating a Quality Improvement Program (preferred).
