Night Shift Laboratory Supervisor

Position Summary: The Night Shift Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the technical operations during the night shift. This role involves overseeing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining quality control, and managing departmental expenses. The Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and quality of laboratory services while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily laboratory activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of quality services.
2. Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
3. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, including implementation of new procedures as required.
4. Monitor and uphold standards of accuracy, precision, and efficiency in laboratory testing and equipment operation.
5. Enforce laboratory and hospital safety and infection control policies.
6. Participate in recruitment, evaluation, and termination processes as needed.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, Medical Technology, or Physical Science; or equivalent examination required.
• One year of laboratory training from an accredited program (if the Bachelor's degree is not in Medical Technology) required.
• Four years of laboratory testing experience in a high complexity environment required.
• Preferred: Six years of laboratory testing experience in a high complexity environment.
• Certification in Medical Laboratory Science by ASCP Board of Certification, National Certification Agency for Clinical Laboratory Professionals, or equivalent preferred.
