NEW Permanent Blood Bank Specialist Opening- Northern Vermont

• Permanent full-time position
• Shift: Primarily day shift with a weekend and holiday rotation
• The ideal candidate will also have experience working as a generalist and may be expected to cover other departments such as Hematology, Urinalysis, and Chemistry.
• Looking for candidates with the following experience
  • Type & Screen and crossmatching units
  • Aggressive Inventory Management
  • Advance Antibody Identification and Antigen Typing
  • Experience in both tube and gel technology
  • Development and maintenance of policy and procedure
  • Training of new staff
  • Serving as technical resource for technologists and providers
  • Oversight of departmental QA/QC/PM and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Accreditation standard and participation in CAP inspections
• Requirements
  • Significant blood bank experience needed
  • Prefer a four-year degree MT/MLS/CLS, however will entertain a MLT candidate if they has sufficient experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • ASCP certification needed
  • BB ASCP or SBB certification is a plus!
• This position is located in Northern Vermont with an outstanding 60+ bed medical center. They are located only 30 minutes north of Burlington, Vermont!
