TITLE: Nuclear Med Tech
LOCATION: New Concord, OH

Summary:
The Nuclear Med Tech transports and positions patients; performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision; performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to inject dose of radiopharmaceuticals for a nuclear diagnosis,
or administration of radioactive therapy treatments, maintains adequate records of procedures performed;
act professionally while on duty to serve as a role model for Student Technologists.
Responsibilities:
-May transport patients to the department for procedures ordered by the attending physician
-Image patients to best display the affected area and minimize unnecessary exposure to radiation and least aggravation of any injury.
-Provide immobilization devices as required.
-Utilizes appropriate dosages of the appropriate radiopharmaceuticals to keep the patients exposure as low as possible and utilization of adequate shielding to keep the technical associate within the ALARA levels.
-Mixes and administers the radiopharmaceutical under the direction of the Radiologist, using appropriate shielding devices.
-Teaches or educates the individual patient and/or patient family (depending upon age of patient) what to expect about the patient’s examination before the exam(s) begin, and documents data appropriately.
-May inject radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established department guidelines, when authorized by the Radiologist after the Technologist has demonstrated his/her competency in this respect.
-Performs daily quality control as described in the Policy and Procedure manual.
-Develops film in accordance with established procedures and fills automixer when needed.
-Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
-Uses proper sterile and aseptic techniques as required.
-Practices safe Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions as per signed document at evaluation time.
-Maintains adequate records on procedures performed and files films for future reference.
-Maintains orderliness and cleanliness in the department, and sees that equipment is properly cared for and turned off at the end of the work day.
-Assist in performing first aid as necessary.
Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) in the appropriate specialty (nuclear medicine) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Nuclear Medicine.
Additional Info:
Reports to the Director of Imaging.
The position is a full time day shift.
Utilize the MRM computer system for scheduling, order entry, completing exams and for retrieving of reports.
Utilizes the MedNet computer system for retrieving IP orders.
The hospital offers an hourly rate 65K-83K depending on experience and they offer a full benefit package.
