(Archived) Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician
Job Description
Blood banking experience heavily preferred. Performs and reports waived and non-waived, routine and STAT laboratory tests in coagulation, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, immunohematology, hematology, and microbiology. Answers technical questions pertaining to the test performance and medical significance of the ranges associated with that test. Able to recognize problems, identify the cause (technical or instrumental) and make simple corrections by using present strategies. Performs and monitors quality control and maintenance procedures within predetermined parameters. Develop and modify procedures as directed by Supervisor.
Be willing to submit to a drug screening
Complete the following required paperwork
• Health History Questionnaire
• Latex Allergy Screening
• WSHA medical evaluation for Respiratory Protection Program (WAC 296-842-220)
Updated vaccination records for:
• Current Influenza vaccination documentation
• Tdap vaccination documentation (If working around young children)
• Color deficiency testing (Clinical staff)
