Job Description
As the Billing and Operations Manager (BOM), you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of our Skilled Nursing Facility. Your primary responsibilities will include managing billing processes, optimizing revenue cycles, and ensuring compliance with billing regulations and guidelines specific to SNFs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing Management: Oversee the billing process for all services provided, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines.
- Revenue Cycle Optimization: Implement strategies to maximize revenue capture, reduce accounts receivable days, and improve cash flow.
- Coding Compliance: Ensure accurate coding of services rendered, following ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports to monitor billing metrics, revenue trends, and operational performance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor billing staff, providing guidance on best practices, training on new regulations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Audit Preparedness: Prepare for and participate in audits, maintaining documentation and ensuring adherence to audit requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in billing and operational workflows, recommending and implementing process improvements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in billing regulations, ensuring the facility's compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing and operations management within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing regulations for SNFs.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, residents, and external stakeholders.
