We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team in South Carolina. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care and assisting healthcare providers in delivering efficient and comprehensive medical services to our patients. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated to providing compassionate care to individuals of all ages.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and verifying insurance information.
2. Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
3. Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed.
4. Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately.
5. Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and proper functioning.
6. Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and specimen collection, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
7. Administer medications, vaccines, and immunizations under the direction of healthcare providers and according to established policies and procedures.
8. Provide patient education and instruction on medication usage, home care procedures, and preventive health measures.
9. Assist with medical procedures, including wound care, suture removal, and EKGs, as needed.
10. Document patient information, assessments, and treatments accurately and promptly in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
11. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
12. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
13. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited institution.
3. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized certifying organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
4. Prior experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.
5. Proficiency in medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and computer skills.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
8. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
9. Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
