Job Description
Overview
Our Litigation Specialist will administer and maintain the patient litigation and claims function at Wellpath, including but not limited to reporting and tracking claims and suits, coordinating with insurance adjusters, and preparing reports related to litigation status, expenses, and trend analysis.
Qualifications
Education:
- Relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or JD degree.
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years experience as paralegal, preferably in firm, insurance defense and health care settings or other comparable experience.
- Strong technology skills in such applications as Word, Excel, Risk Management databases.
- Effective general research skills using the internet and legal research tools.
Licenses/Certifications:
- J.D. License or Paralegal certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal or paralegal support for medical professional liability litigation and claims function.
- Administer and assist with development and implementation of all litigation policies, procedures, and programs.
- Coordinate internal and external claims reporting, tracking of claims and suits, and serve as primary contact for third party administrator and outside counsel on litigation matters.
- Manage the day-to-day activities related to patient litigation and claims.
- Administer the litigation and claims process, receives and reviews all associated documentation and follow-up as needed.
