Loyal Source Government Services is looking for a Medical Assistant to work at a Federal Prison Camp located in Montgomery, Alabama as a civilian contractor on promoting and restoring patients’ health. The candidate must have a current, unrestricted licensure in ANY STATE, territory or commonwealth of the United States, District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, Guam or Puerto Rico. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: - The duties include but are not limited to the following: - Provides nursing care to include, taking and recording patient history, vital signs, making appointments, assisting PA’s and physicians in clinical activities. - Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. - Collects and processes Urinalysis. - Operates EKG, Hearing machine, and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the HSU. - Assists PAs and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic, optometry and general clinics when scheduled. - Assists primary providers in the urgent care room when necessary. - Schedules appointments, arranges for hospital admission and laboratory services, receives money for bills, completes insurance forms, maintains financial records, and records and files patient charts and medical records. Medical Assistants may use computer to perform administrative duties.
