Job Description

NEEDED: Certified Medical Assistant

LOCATION: Tallahassee, FL 32301

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)

QUALIFICATION:

  • Must have 2 years documented experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant school or program.
  • Shall maintain current certification as a Medical Assistant in the State of Florida.
  • The contractor must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
  • The contractor must identify the individual selected to perform these services on behalf of the contractor at the time the quotation is submitted.
  • Failure to submit evidentiary documentation (resume) of education, qualifications, and certifications may result in elimination from consideration.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide nursing care to include, taking and recording patient history, vital signs, making appointments, assisting Mid-Level Practitioners and physicians in clinical activities.
  • Perform venipuncture from patients for analysis or other medical purposes when necessary.
  • Collect and process urinalysis.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ability and skill to operate EKG and laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and must have the ability to screen for gross mood changes.
  • Ability to provide basic first aid, prevention care, and guidance in treating a variety of common illnesses/injuries.
  • Properly triage sick-call complaints and refer to RN or APP as appropriate.
  • Perform duties as required but accept only those assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure laws.
  • Operation of EKG machine, and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the HSU.
  • Will assist providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
  • General medical assistant duties.
  • Maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
  • Screening eye exams and assisting physicians and mid-level practitioners in minor surgical cases.
  • Maintain daily sick call list and place patient on call out as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
