The role of Medical Assistant involves overseeing customer flow in the clinic and supporting healthcare providers in delivering personalized care to a diverse patient population. Key responsibilities include engaging in delegated tasks based on Medical Assistant scope of practice guidelines and fostering effective communication within the healthcare team to enhance customer-focused outcomes.

Key Duties:

  • Performing clinical and administrative tasks to optimize clinic operations such as rooming procedures, administering immunizations and medications, and conducting specimen collections.
  • Providing telephonic assistance, facilitating customer-provider communication, and supporting prescription refills.
  • Carrying out x-ray tasks (if certified), phlebotomy, and clinic laboratory tests.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to scope of practice guidelines.
  • Continuous professional development and skill maintenance.
  • Flexibility in task assignments to align with organizational goals.
  • Engaging with supervisory staff for direction and support.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Valid Medical Assistant certification.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a clinical setting.
  • Completion of X-ray operator's examination or willingness to do so.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using various computer applications.
  • Potential travel to local worksites, particularly in Occupational Medicine.

Required Licensure or Certification:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
