Job Description

NO SMOKERS

Accessions or Medical Assistant for our laboratory. The hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm with ½ hour for lunch. Pay is $18-$20 per hour, DOE. The person must have or be:

  1. Proficient with computers
  2. Quick learner
  3. Organized
  4. Confidentiality (dealing with CC payments and checks)
  5. Excellent attendance and/or communicating when not able to come to work or be late
  6. Phlebotomy
  7. Proper attire for working inside a laboratory – closed toe shoes (no Crocs!)


The essential duties are listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor refrigerator temperatures daily
  • Clean and prepare technologist benches for the following morning
  • Daily data entry of requisitions in SalesForce
  • Retrieve missing regulatory information for the complete processing of requisitions
  • Print test log daily and check against requisitions
  • Print labels for specimens
  • Process add-ons as requested by Physician by adhering to ILI guidelines
  • Combine results by appropriate results type
  • Handle Calls from Dr.'s Office requesting status of test results
  • Monitor accuracy of printed reports
  • Relay test results via email, fax or verbal as required
  • Reprint test results as needed
  • Assist in laboratory when supervisor sees necessary
  • Address all other activities and email efficiently
  • Provide feedback to the Manager regarding daily activities, issues, complaints, etc.
  • Participate in the development and writing of department procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
