NEW Lead Histology Technician (HT or HTL) opening with a great organization in Michigan!

This new opening is with a high volume laboratory located in Eastern Michigan. They are actively looking for a Lead Histology Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Tech to enhance and diversify their leadership experience while working in a position that provides optimal work/life balance!

Shift: Day Shift

Job Summary

The histology group leader (day shift), working along with the department manager, provides direction and overall supervision of the histology laboratory staff during their shift, ensuring work is performed within turn around time requirements with high quality and safety. This person performs routine histology duties (such as embedding, microtome, etc) approximately 70% of their day. The remainder of their day is for ancillary leadership duties, such as scheduling, Kronos timekeeping, quality/safety initiatives, and other ancillary duties. This person will also communicate regularly with pathologists, residents, and other laboratory anatomic pathology team members. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work well independently as well as a member of a team are essential for this role.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2 years of histology laboratory experience
  • Some level of leadership experience preferred
  • ASCP certification is a plus
