We are seeking a Full Time Histology Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. This is a day shift opening!
POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares tissues and body fluids for microscopic examination with histological procedures. Assists pathologist with frozen sections. Performs employee appraisals. Supervises Histotechnologists.
Histotechnologist procedures: The individual in this classification supports the pathologist as well as the managerial staff of the laboratory. The histologist must be able to perform all routine procedures and special procedures essential to excellent slide preparation. The individual will be responsible for daily quality control charting, logging and reporting as needed. He/she must be able to utilize instruments and equipment properly and skillfully under supervision. Each technologist performs only those laboratory procedures that require a degree of skill commensurate with his/her education, training, and technical abilities and involve independent judgment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree with emphasis in Science including Chemistry and Biology preferred. Five Years experience in Histology laboratory preferred. High School graduate or equivalent. ASCP, AMT and HEW certification or equivalent is desired.
