Histology Technician - Central Michigan

A leading healthcare facility in the Central Michigan area is looking for a Histology Technician II (Histo Tech II) to join its pathology team!

Position Highlights:

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, embed, cut, and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination

• Perform routine and special histological staining procedures

• Assist pathologists with surgical specimens and autopsy procedures

• Operate and maintain histology equipment and instrumentation

• Perform specimen accessioning, labeling, and documentation

• Maintain quality control standards and ensure accurate specimen processing

• Assist with cytology specimen preparation, including FNAs and non-GYN specimens

• Support daily pathology laboratory operations and maintain laboratory supplies

Qualifications:

• Associate degree required

• HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification or eligibility required

• Must obtain ASCP certification within 18 months of hire if not already certified

• Training through an accredited institution required

• Knowledge of anatomy, tissue processing, microtomy, and histological staining techniques

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
