Job Description
Histology Technician Opening in Milwaukee, WI - Permanent Hire
This is a full-time position offering a four day workweek. The Histology Technician will work within a pathology laboratory and rotate between locations in Wauwatosa, Oconomowoc, and Glendale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tissue processing, embedding, microtomy/cutting, and staining
- Cryostat and frozen section work
- Accessioning and preparing tissue specimens
- Grossing and inking, when qualified
- Slide preparation and quality control
- Troubleshooting histology and specimen-quality issues
- Maintaining CLIA-required QA/QC documentation
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree
- Completion of a NAACLS histology training program
- HT(ASCP) certification OR eligibility to sit for the exam
- Certification must be obtained within one year of hire
- 2+ years of histology experience preferred
